Shaylee is the epitome of indie rock in Portland, OR, circa 2023. Fiery guitar, sultry, emo-inspired lyrics, and a driving rhythm section that bring it all together. Frontwoman Elle Archer is not shy about her triumphs and tribulations, having written some of their most iconic songs in the midst of battles with substance abuse and personal traumas, framed by themes of perseverance and deep introspection. Shaylee is a band of many colors – one that can be appreciated purely for their musicianship and dominating stage presence, and for their message of the messiness and meaning of life itself. They were one of the very first bands captured by PDX Presents back in July of 2022 and remain a personal favorite on the scene. Signed to Kill Rock Stars, they’ve just completed a west coast tour and are slated to perform at Doug Fir Lounge supporting @musicofeyelids on June 3rd. It’s a show you don’t want to miss.
