Mauve Bids Farewell In Final Portland Show

If the rumors are to be believed, Mauve has played their final show in Portland, at least for the foreseeable future. At Polaris Hall on Saturday night, 12/16/23, the band announced from stage that this could be it for a while, as they had also hinted on social media. Behind the scenes, plans are apparently being made by multiple group members to relocate to other cities, although no details have been publicly confirmed.

It is my sincere hope that this is simply a hiatus, a temporary pause in the excitement. Since the founding PDX Presents, no other band has shown such explosiveness and crowd response, and they have been an inspiration to many, myself included.

Special thanks to Friends of Noise for hosting the event, which also featured Growing Pains and Glacier Veins. It was a true highlight of this year’s holiday season.
