Drowning Souls at Hoan Kiem

Part 4 of our 5-part series from Hoan Kiem on 3-28 features Drowning Souls, a hardcore/metal band with a huge amount of energy on stage. Contrary to the group’s dark sound, the mood of the crowd was downright festive. Toward the end of the set, they were split in two, for what the band has termed the “Wall of Death.” After a brief moment of calm, when everyone was ready, helter-skelter was unleashed and the room was consumed in an all-person mosh. Despite the chaos, it was all smiles from the all-ages, all-gender crowd, and it was clear that all in attendance understood that the act is more about pure, high energy than it is about anger and violence. It was really a sight to behold.

You can catch these guys both indoors and out throughout the summer. Check out their profile for more at https://instagram.com/drowningsoulspdx
