Clam Bait at The Fixin’ To in St. John’s

What began as a mid-pandemic recording project has evolved into a living wall of sound known as Clam Bait, featuring front-man and former Yuvees bassist, Jacob Broome, along with Dana Lacono (@interesting_choice) and J.R. Hughes (@j.r_hughes) of @heirloommonsters fame.

With influences ranging from Gun Club and X to Brainiac and The Jesus Lizard, the band is part of a close-knit community of Portland’s finest indie rockers, including the aforementioned Yuvees, Lo Fives, Shaylee, Black Shelton, and a number of others. The locally famous scenesters are quick to show up in support of one another, filling rooms from Firkin Tavern to The Fixin’ To, where this show was captured on 4/13.

Clam Bait has plans to release their debut EP this summer, with studio sessions scheduled over the next few months. Give ’em a follow and keep an eye out for future performances. There’s bound to be a good time anywhere this crew pulls up.
